Building - Week Seven (12th Dec)

After the slow, previous week it was all hands to the pump in week seven. The previous Friday’s efforts in laying the concrete set the foundation, in more ways that one, to start building.

As the week progressed the breeze block outline of the new kitchen area and the downstairs lobby started to take shape.

Of course, being a construction site I am not allowed access without my hard hat, hi-vis vest and protective footwear so most of the pictures are from the back (old toilet door). Right we see the view into the new kitchen area and below the view to the external kitchen door.

One of the key challenges for David and Nick this week, was to decide the correct external bricks to buy. It was felt that those specified by the architect were not a close enough colour-match to the adjacent brick work of the church. After the set backs of the previous weeks weather , it was good to see real progress being made.
