Wednesday Afternoon Group

We at SGS are aware of the need to provide a safe environment for all our activities. We therefore regularly review our potential areas of risk and insist that all our helpers are CRB checked.

Or known by it’s more colloquial name, WAGS. This is a social activity group for those of more mature years. It is held most Wednesdays throughout the year, August excluded.

Time: 1.30 pm - 3.00 pm

Activities vary, alternative weeks are usually games sessions. Typically this might be draughts, scrabble, darts and many others. On other occasions we may have speakers discussing interesting and pertinent topics or trying our hand at a rich variety of crafts. Last session this included; painting in watercolours, card making, baking and silk painting. We are looking forward to another canal boat trip and going out to lunch.

Trips to local beauty spots are frequent as are the Sunday lunch outings.

Our usual sessions commence with a short Christian devotion and conclude with tea and coffee.

There is usually a nominal 50p charge for the tea, although this can be more when the craft activities involve additional costs
